The Station’s award-winning IT Innovations Administrator, Brett Edwards, has twice been recognised as a Franchisee of the Year, an honour typically reserved for franchise owners, during his time as manager of a thriving franchise location.
Brett puts this achievement down to his personal philosophy of innovation, integrity, kindness and loyalty, and to his strong communication skills. He admires individuals who are passionate, honest and creative, and who focus on contributing to the team for the collective benefit of the organisation and its clients. He said having open communication with clients is the key to helping them unlock countless new opportunities.
His career journey has revolved around service-based roles since he started with Worldwide straight out of university in 2004. In his 17 years with the company, he has worked in various roles, including stints as a junior graphic designer, working in digital production and in sales and service. He took on management of the West Perth Centre in 2010, before shifting gears in 2018 and joining the corporate office in the new role of IT Administrator.
As well as taking on the crucial role of reminding his colleagues of their passwords, he is responsible for supporting and maintaining the systems that power The Station’s internal IT requirements and digital marketing technology.
On the subject of thought leadership, Brett said a definition he found online resonated strongly with him, that described thought leadership as ‘innovative, insightful and informative thinking that makes people think and encourages them to move forward’.
He is inspired by stories of people who have built something out of nothing, people who are selfless and self-sacrificing, and people who are generous with their time, knowledge, skills and finances.
Two major milestones Brett is particularly proud of include his 17 year tenure in the industry, and becoming a father.
